Begin by visiting
the churchyard where Winston Churchill is buried (it may surprise you!), then journey to the truly magnificent Blenheim
Palace where he was born. Explore the amazing gardens, the palace
and even the family’s private apartments – and it isn’t every day that you can lunch in a palace!
We will then journey on
to see the haunting remains of the 15th century Minster Lovell Hall in its fairy tale setting, passing the
home of the Mitford girls at Asthall. And we’ll visit the pretty village
of Burford to wander past the Almhouses to the historic church
to see the Anthony Sedler-Prisner 1649 inscription and the musket ball holes where he was executed as a roundhead mutineer.
Then meander through the Windrush and Coln valleys.
